‘Pokémon Unite’ celebrates its first anniversary with new additions to the list

Free to play multiplayer online battle arena title (MOBA) Pokémon United is celebrating its first anniversary with a set of new updates.

New Pokemon, features, events, and campaigns are coming to the title. One of these events is the Pika Party Quick Battle, which as the name suggests is a game mode that has every Pokemon on the field as Pikachu. This event runs from August 3 at 5pm PDT/August 4 at 1am BST to September 1 at 4:59pm PDT.

Ultra Beast Buzzwole is also being additional to the game on August 3 at 5:00 p.m. PDT / August 4 at 1:00 a.m. BST, and is described as an “all-rounder that can grab opposing Pokémon and launch them into the air.” Buzzwole also has the Beast Boost ability, which temporarily increases its “movement speed and base attack speed whenever it knocks out an opposing Pokémon”.

Holowear and Unite Licenses for Pikachu, Lucario, Blastoise, Sylveon, and Snorlax have also been given away to players.

Additionally, there is a limited-time Boss Rush mode that is available to play on different dates. It is currently available until August 8 at 00:59 BST, with the third time slot available between August 15 at 1 am BST and August 22 at 00:50 am BST.

The Unite update teases that the first anniversary is “just the start of things to come.” Pokémon United”, with a total of six new Pokémon, including Glaceon, Tyranitar (coming on August 15), and Buzzwole recently added to the game, and the second batch of unrevealed creatures that will start rolling out in September. This will bring the overall list up to a respectable 42′ mons.

Pokémon United has been a huge success for developer TiMi Studio Group, surpassing a massive 70 million downloads on Switch and mobile in April.

In other news, a new trailer for scarlet pokemon Y Violet has been released and features information on the three different stories along with rideable legends.
